At night, it’s normal for me to bring a bottle of water upstairs just in case I get thirsty in the middle of the night. So this morning I woke up thirsty! I grabbed the water from the night stand and took a drink. I thought about how we all have the privilege to drink when we are thirsty. Yet so many try to quench their thirst with other things that really don’t do the job. The person still ends up thirsty, even if he/she doesn’t accept the fact.
We have been given the opportunity to drink from the well that never runs dry! We have been given an open invitation to receive living water! Yet again, so many reject it!
I’m reminded of the Pharisees who were so puffed up in their religion that they failed to see their need for a Savior. Being full of pride is dangerous! It’ll keep you from receiving the very One who can save your life—Jesus!
Don’t reject the most precious gift that you can receive—salvation! It’s available to you today! He who is thirsty can come and drink! Jesus wants to fill you!!
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” —Isaiah 55:1-3, 6-7 KJV
